عُرف الشعر قديماً بأنه كلام موزون ومتخيل، والمعتبر في حقيقة الشعر إنما هو التخييل والمحكاة، وقد وُفق خالد المغيدي في استحضار الشعر إلى داخل أطر روحية نقية، منطلقاً من فلسفة عدمية في بعدها الأعمق لكائن متخبط في حياة موجعة، منطلقاً من الذات وإلى الذات ومعبراً عن قيمة "الفقد" الحقيقية، فقدَ حبيباً رحل عنه فأضناه شوقاً، ناسجاً نصه على منوال "الأنت" المخاطب يرفعه بذلك نحو النص الأبلغ دلالياً ولغوياً ليوصل للمتلقي ذروة الألم الحسي والروحي على حد سواء. لنقرأ للشاعر مقتطفات من أشعاره: "انقضى عام.. وأنا ما زلتُ أقف داخل هذه السَّاعة الساكنة.. حاملاً متاع ذكراك الذي قصمَ ظهر قلبي..". "شبهُ حيّ في عُزلتي عنكِ... شبهُ ميِّت في عزلتكِ عنيِّ...". "أحلامي وقت منامي.. هي يقظةٌ تزداد شغفاً لك.. ويقظتي بين يديك.. هي حُلُمٌ اكتملَ بك.. وبين يقظتي وحُلُمي.. هناك حبٌ يهمس باسمك..". "هل لك أن تنتظري بضع سنين.. ريثما أجفف دموعي.. وأعُدُّ القهوة لي.. ومائدة حنين لآخرِ ذكرى بيننا.. قبل أن تمضي". ومسك الختام (الفهرس) وعنه يقول الشاعر: لا تُفهرس المشاعر التي قد تلامس جرحاً.. أو تلامس فرحاً.. فهذا الكتاب بما يحوي.. مفهرس تحت اسم الحياة الأعظم.. وهو الحُب.. مهما كانت طريقة ميلاده.. أو طقوس حياته.. أو شكل موته..".
