«عثرة السنونو» قصائد غزلية، ترتكز على سمات تعبيرية ووظيفية خاصة بالرجل/ الشاعر الذي صنَّع حواءه من مادة اسمها "الشعر"، وما علينا نحن إلا أن نبحث عنها في مادتها الأولية "اللغة" التي يتشكل منها القصيد، واللغة التي يتشكل منها البوح، في طقوس شعرية خاصة بشاعر الحب والجمال "كامل حسن"، وهو ما تجلى واضحاً في شعره فوصفها وصفاً أنثوياً رائعاً، ولكن. من دون أن يتخلى عن شرقيته في الغزل. لنقرأ له قصيدته المعنونة "حبٌ شرقي": "شرقيّ... لم/ أقرأ في دستور/ للشرق بأن الحب/ مشاع...! وأن امرأة تتشظى/ في بضع... قلوب/ بل... تسبح عارية في/ أكثر من عين/ شرقيّ ولسان القلب/ يقول:/ لا أحفل بامرأة تمسك/ بيديها/ أنواع التفاح/ وتمزج في خديها/ الألوان وتصلي سافرة/ نحو القبلة/ شرقيّ... حين أحب/ امرأة يقفز/ شيطان الشك لرأسي/ شكٌ... غيرة/ (...)/ شرقي... لا أشرك في حبّ امرأة/ وأراها تشرك/ لو أمّحل حقلي/ واحتبس الماء بقيعاني/ وتخالف بين يدي/ نسيج العمر/ وما فعلت حواء/ الأمس بآدمها/ فسلام من حقب التاريخ/ لدمعتها/ وسلام من هند الأرض/ لنجد". بهذا الحس الدرامي العميق تتحرك قصائد المجموعة في نزوع واضح نحو استدعاء لغة الحواس في ثيمات من الصور المتلاحقة في حركة دائرية تتفق مع قول (هايدغر): الذي يرى السماء فضاءً انكشافياً مفتوحاً، وفي الأرض فضاء العتمة. لكن المرأة بوصفها كائناً إنسانياً متحققاً في قصائد الشاعر كامل حسن تظل هي الأساس وهي عالم الشاعر الذي لا يتحقق وجوده إلا بها. يضم الكتاب مايزيد عن الثمانون قصيدة في الشعر العربي الحديث جاءت تحت العناوين الآتية: "حبٌ شرقيّ"، "حُمى القبل"، "جمجمة اللذة"، "صديقتي"، "مُخبر"، "برودة"، "عثرة السنونو"، "خريف"، "حلم معلم"، "وسواس"، "شجرة الأفاعي"، (...) وعناوين أخرى.
