إن الوردة في تجربة نزيه الحنوني في «موعد غرام بعد عام» تتعدى أن تكون مصدراً للإلهام، ومساحة للبوح، وفضاء لتجلي الحبيب الغائب إلى أن تغدو لبنة أساسية في تشكيل النص، وكأن الشاعر يصغي للوردة، يحاورها يبوح لها بسّره، ويكتبها في اللحظة التي تكتبه، ليأتي الشعر هنا حالة استثنائية من التوهج خارجاً من وهج التكوين الذاتي للرجل العاشق/الشاعر، ففي القصائد ذلك الشيء الذي تحسه نابعاً من القلب إلى القلب، وأما قاموسه فهو يمتح من مفردات الغياب والرثاء والبكاء فالمكتوب يمثل غياب المعشوق ولمشهد الحنوني عموماً علاقة بشعر الأطلال ورمزيته داخل فضاءٍ خاوٍ يعوّض غياب الحبيب. وحينما نقرأه يصيبنا ذلك الإحساس ونحن نحدق في وردة مأخوذة بذلك المعنى الغائب فيها المنسوج في تفاصيلها. من روض الكتاب نقرأ: وسألت تطلب ألاّ تكلمني عن من تحبّ / وتابعت أخبرني كيف تعرفتما وأحببتها صدفة قبل عام من غير موعد التقيتها / فدخل الحبّ في قلوبنا فأردت أن أعرفها فتسامرنا حتى أطل علينا الصباح باسما / فأعطتني عنوانها حتى أتصل وأواعدها فقلت لها بصراحة سأبعد عنك مدة عام / فإما أن تنتظريني أو ترفضي وقد خيرتها فقالت مستغربة عام حتى نلتقي ولما / فحدثتها بصراحة بكل شيء عني أخبرتها (...) قالت سأنتظر وسألتها عن موعد بيننا / صدّقيني أن غير تلك المرة لم ألتقي بها فواعدتني في يومي هذا في المساء / وتخيلي اللقاء كيف سيكون بعد عام معها فقالت يا لها من قصة وموعد عجيب / يا ليت لي عمر لأعود لأترابي وأقصها إن صدقتما بالوفاء بالعهد وتلاقيتما / فهو أجمل حبّ وأجمل قصة قد سمعتها في هذا العمل، يقدم الأستاذ نزيه الحنوني تجربة شعرية فريدة بسرده قصة غرامية كاملة بقواف موزونة تنضح حباً وتضج موسيقى.
