في شعرية حسين عبد الله مذكور عشق لامرأة تعجز عن وصفها الكلمات. هي امرأة لا تشبه إلا ذاتها، خُلقت للهوى ولا شيء غيره. في «وجهتي الغائبة» يقوم شاعرنا برسمها وتشكيلها، ثم تقديمها للمتلقي رمزاً لحالة حُب أبدي ينشد عيشها مع امرأة لا يهم أن تكون حقيقة أم خيالاً، المهم عيش التجربة. وبهذا يكون الشعر طرفاً في أهم ثنائيات التكوين البشري (الرجل/المرأة) وتحديداً ضمن معادلة (الحب) وامتداداً لثنائية أخرى، هي (آدم/ حواء)، التي يُمكن أن تمثل رمزاً لتلك الثنائية التكوينية منذ الأزل وهذا ما حاولت أن تكشف عنه قصائد المجموعة.- تحت عنوان «عيناكِ» يقول الشاعر مذكور:"ما زلت في عينيكِ أنثر أحرفي/ لا ما اكتفيتُ!/ ولن أتوب وأكتفي/ سأظل في هذي النواعس مبحراً/ يا وهن شعري/ عند وصفكِ/ والرموش الساهيات بنارها/ محرابُ حسنٍ/ قام فيه تلهف/ عيناك أغنية/ يردد لحنها/ هذا الوجودُ الحالمُ/ المرسوم فيكِ/ بلا حدود../ كما هواكِ بداخل/ حُرّاً يسافر في دمي/ وقفٌ له زمني،/ وحارسه الفؤاد/ يطيع أمركِ إن أمرتِ/ على ترابك ينكفي/ سيظل شعري/ عند حسنكِ ساجداً/ يتلو قوافيهِ/ التي لولاكِ/ ما اشتغلت على/ سطر الحنين المنطقي/ يا وجهة الأمل/ المقيم بعثرتي/ لمي خطاه الباقيات وأيقظي/ عمراً على../ شغف الوصول غفى...".- يضم الكتاب اثنتان وعشرون قصيدة في الشعر العربي الموزون والمقفى وأخرى في الشعر العربي الحديث، جاءت تحت العناوين الآتية: "لا تهدأي"، "السكرة المشتهاة"، "أول النار"، "أيها المارقُ من تقواي"، "إلى لا نهاية"، "ذاكرة المكان"، "ذكرى احتراق"، "ركام القوافي"، "على غصن حبك"، "عيناكِ"، "قلق"، "قناديل باكية"، (...) وقصائد أخرى.
