كما يعتنق الشعراء مذاهبهم بحب؛ يعتنق جمال علي علوش قصائده، ليطوق بأسوارها امرأة، يعتنق وإياها مذهب الحبّ، يتحد معها؛ ويقطف أجمل وأمتع الأوقات بقربها؛ يشتَمُّ عطرها ويطلب منها: "سامِريني في توَاشيحِ لَياليًّا /أيَا ناعمةَ الموجِ /ونادِي وردَةَ القدِّ /وحَمراوَيْنِ في الخَدِّ /وثغراً فلكيًّا /فأنا ما زلتُ لم أُولدْ /وما في كوكَبي أُنثَى سِواكْ /علِّميني رَقْصةَ الحُبِّ عَلى الأهدابِ /وانسيْني هُناكْ /كَلمِينِي بِهَوى الصَّمتِ /وبيعي كلَّ أملاكي لمكْنونِ هواكْ (...) ذوِّبيني /علِّقي أجواءَ كوْني /وتلاشيْ بي كما شئِت /وزيدي مِن جُنوني /والعبِينِي لعبةَ الحبِّ /ونامِي في عُيوني /فأنا ما كنتُ يا سامِرَتي /إلاكِ.. أعْشَقْ".
القصائد تتركز في بؤرة الذات الأنثوية، وتتمظهر بطاقة تعبيرية جمالية، ما بين الواقع والحلم والمثال، ولهذا فهي تضج بالتأملات والرؤى، والإضاءات الصورية والدلالية واللغوية والأسلوبية التي تؤهل العبارة وتُغني المعنى.
