من الصعب رسم صورة ثابتة لمدينة كثيرة التغير، نابضة بالحركة كباريس، هذه المدينة المفعمة بالحياة، الممتدة على ضفاف نهر السين، شريانها الرئيسي الأبدي. هل ما زالت الضفة اليسرى مثلاً منتدى للفنانين والمثقفين؟ الواقع أن الناشرين الكبار لا يزالون متمركزين فيها، إضافة إلى الأكاديمية الفرنسية وجامعة السوربون.
