"وادٍ في القلب" بوح أنثوي عميق أكثر منه رواية، الحب ثيمته، هو لسان حال كل أنثى تبحث عن حب حقيقي. بطلة الرواية امرأة عصرية مثقفة ناجحة في عملها ولديها قراءها، ولكن الفراغ يملأ حياتها، وقد قاربت الثلاثين وتخاف أن يذهب القطار بلا رجعة. وفي غمرة من الزمن تدبر لها صديقتها منى عريساً. إنه "رابح" الذي توقعت منه أن يكسر جمود أيامها، فظنت أنه الفارس المغوار الذي سيخطفها على حصانه الأبيض "سيخطف قلبي ويسكنني قصره، قلبه، سيكون لي ستراً وسكناً، سأكون الأسعد ومعه الأكثر شعوراً بالأمان وسأحظى بحب واحترام وتقدير..." ولكن، عند أول لقاء يذهب رابح ويعدل عن فكرة الزواج، ومع ذلك ظل قلب مها ينتظر ويتمسك بالحياة رافضاً الموت ".. أردت لقلبي أن يخفق، لا خوفاً وارتباكاً، لا غضباً وتعباً وضجراً، أردت له أن يخفق حباً، حباً حقيقياً هذه المرة...". وفي صباح أحد الأيام دخلت مها مكتبها تجر نفسها جراً، ولم تكن تعرف أن القدر يخبئ لها أمراً ساراً "كان هناك يجلس على الكرسي يقلب صفحات مجلة، نهض لحظة وقعت عيناه على (...) كان وجهه مشرقاً. عرف عن نفسه: أحمد ماجد مدير شركة الأنوار للدعاية والإعلان..." في تلك اللحظة، بدأ الوادي السحيق في قلبها يفيض، ودقات قلبها تتسارع، والوادي يجري، يتقلب فيه أولئك الذين مروا عليها في حياتها، الذين تمنتهم ولم تحصل عليهم، والذين تمنوها وأسروا أمنياتهم... فهل ستجد مها الحب هذه المرة ويردم الوادي نفسه في داخلها... ربما؟!
