تدور أحداث الرواية في البلاط العثماني (القرن الثامن عشر الميلادي)، وتبدأ من جنوب شرق شركسيا، حينما تختطف "ديدنور" ابنة السبعة أعوام من قريتها الشركسية على يد فرسان غريب يضعها على حصانه ويبحر بها إلى مملكة مجهولة في اسطنبول، فتباع كجارية إلى قصر السلطان العثماني. وهناك، تجد الفتاة نفسها فجأة في قصور بني عثمان "قصور دولمبهن"، تخضع لدروس مكثفة في السلوكيات الاجتماعية الراقية كغيرها من الجواري بحيث يكن مؤهلات للدخول في عالم سيدات الحرملك، وتعمل سرايلي في خدمة الأميرة عليا حين كانت الأميرة صغيرة، وبعد زواج الأميرة، تتعرض ديدنور لتجربتين في حياتها الشخصية الأولى قاسية؛ بزواجها من عقيد في الجيش العثماني، والثانية؛ سعيدة، حينما تتزوج بضياء ابن كامل أفندي كبير أطباء القصر، وتنجب توأماً، عندئذٍ تذكرت ديدنور كلمات الغريب الذي أسرها: "لا تخافي أيتها الصغيرة، فقد قامت كثيرات بهذه الرحلة قبلك. وإن شاء الله ستكون حياتك أفضل مما حلمت به يوماً...". لقد كان محقاً، لم يكن بمقدور ديدنور أن تتخيل هذه النعمة، فلديها الآن زوج متفانٍ، وحماة تدعمها، وصديقتان مخلصتان تهتمان بها، وأولاد موفورو الصحة، ومكانة مرموقة بين النخبة العثمانية... (الحريم: رحلة حب) رواية هي الأكثر تعبيراً عن الوجه المشع والإنساني لنساء الحرملك في قصور بني عثمان، نجحت أسلي سانكار في تقديمها عبر رحلة حب.
