في (الشكل)، نقع في الرواية على مزيج من الحكايات، أبطالها جمع من المحاربون، المواطنون والصحافيون، والآلاف من المسحوقون ضحايا السياسة والاقتصاد والحكم والحرب.
وفي (المتن) ما تلبث الرواية أن تنحدر إلى الجسد لتروي حكاية ياسين رجل أقعدته حرب غير متكافئة في براثن أنوثة تشتعل ناراً، تلك هي رانية العجيبة صاحبة عزيمة لا تفتر من أجل المتعة... جسدها الناري يحرق الرجولة عمداً وألماً، هي أنثى علمت منذ نشأتها الأولى أن ليس لها شيء غير جسدها وعليها أن تعيش له ولأجله. تعيش في بيئة رثة، تعرضت لتصفية مجتمعية، وقال فيها المجتمع كلمته منذ أن كانت يافعة، لم يعتمد لها براءة الطفولة، ألبسها ثوب أمها وخالاتها. أخيراً "لم تخيِّب ظنه، وحققتُ ما أراد، (الجميع) كان يريدني عاهرة قاتلة وقد كنت ولم أزل...".
وفي (المضمون) تبدو الرواية وبطلتها وجه حقيقي لمجتمع معين تحفّظ الراوي على وصفه؛ لأن الوصف لا يليق بكل شيء، فهناك أشياء تصف وتشرح نفسها بنفسها...
ومهما يكن من أمر «قارعة الذات» وراويها فهي تتحدث عن مجتمع يعاني التطرف وازدواجية المعايير، فمزجت بين الرواية والحياة، أليس الأدب إعادة تشكيل الحياة وفق معاييره الخاصة وتقنياته المختلفة؟...
