ولكن حياة موسى تتغيّر حين يبتسم له الحظ يوماً ويجني ثمار تفوّقه في دراسته، فيتمّ تعيينه في منصب رفيع في الإدارة الحكومية. ولكن بدل التكيف مع وضعه الجديد والتمتع بالحياة كما توقَّع منه الكثيرون، قرّر العمل على تحقيق إصلاح إداري في عمله، كما قرّر أن يطلب يد فاطمة ابنة أحد أغنياء مصر الكبار والتي طالما أحبّها. ولكن هذين القرارين جيّشا ضده الكثير من الأعداء، حتى من داخل أسرته مما وضع حياته وحياة والدته على المحك.
