«أخبرني سراً» قصة رومانسية للكاتبة "النفل محمد" تتحدث فيها عن فتاة ريفية جميلة تدعى "نورة"، جائعة، وتائهة وسط المدن الباردة، أخذتها خطواتها إلى ضوء ذلك الكوخ، الدافئ، فجاءت مسرعة خوفاً من أن يشتد ضياعها وتموت. استقبلها عبد الرحمن وأصدقاؤه، ورحبوا بها بينهم. "أملك ذلك الكوخ لأجتمع وإياهم كل سنةٍ حين يهطل المطر في موسمه، ويبدو أننا اكتملنا بفتاة الريف وطفلة الماء وصديقة السماوات، اكتملنا بك أنتِ". كان لقاءً خفيفاً جداً، مضحكاً بعض الشيء، ولكنه ترك أثره على حياة بأكملها. أخذها القدر إليه صدفةً، فأيقظ عبد الرحمن مشاعر الحب النائمة منذ سنين داخلها، كان حباً من أول لقاء، لقد عرفت نورة أن الإيمان بالحب قدر، وقدرها كان متعلقاً به. فأقسما معاً قسم الحب. ولكنه كان قسماً سرياً، قابعاً في ذاتهما، فهما يعيشان في مجتمع يختار للرجل زوجه، وللمرأة زوجها، أخفت نورة مشاعرها لتتفوه بها في وقت متأخر جداً يصعب معه الرجوع إلى الوراء، مرت السنون، ولكن بقيت فتاة الريف بالنسبة إلى عبد الرحمن "حبيبة المشاعر المقدسة". إنه الحب الذي لا يمكن أن يتلاشى وينقطع، الحب الذي يبقى حاضناً كل لحظاته وأحاسيسه، عابراً المسافات والسنين، قابعاً في النفس حتى آخر العمر.من أجواء الرواية نقرأ:"... كنت أنا نورة الطفلة كما يظن الجميع ويظن هو أيضاً، طفلة الأحلام التي هربت في ساعات الليل القاسية، باردة كليالي الجوع في مدن الأطفال الأبرياء، كجوع اللقاء بطفلته نورة.أخبركَ سرًّا؟أنت الوقت الجميل الذي كنت أنتظر ولادته من رحمي لأعيش بك. أنت الانتظار، وأنت الشهور التسعة، وأنت طفلي الذي سأخفيه دائماً عن الجميع، وأنت فرحتي، وأنت السعادة التي تسكنني، وأنت حبيبي لوحدي...".
