لعل هذا المقتبس من رواية «غَيَابَتْ» أرادت من ورائه الكاتبة أبرار بنت نور أن تباغت المتلقي، وتُشعره بغرابة ما يًحكى ومن ثم؛ جعله بوابة لدخول العالم الداخل حكائي، في هذا النص الروائي الذي تضعنا من خلاله وجهاً لوجه أمام فضاء روائي غريب، سواء على مستوى الشخصيات أو الأحداث التي تنتظمه. وهي غرابة يصنعها المتخيل الروائي في إحالة إلى عالم مرجعي يؤمِن أصحابه بالسحر والشعوذة في مقابل عالم مرجعي آخر يؤمِن بالعلم والطب النفسي. ما يعني خلق نوع من التصادم بين ما هو طبيعي، وما هو فوق الطبيعي، يؤدي إلى إيجاد وضع جديد، يهيمن على الشخصية الواقعة تحت سطوة الحدث فوق الطبيعي، يخلخل ذاتها، ويؤزمها، ويجعلها ترى الوجود من خلاله؛ وهذه الشخصية التي تنهض على أساسها الحكاية هي تلميذة المدرسة (حوراء) التي ستشكل بؤرة الحدث التي تتفرع منها مسارب الحكاية على أنساق منظومة الحكي، وبالتالي تنكشف الحكاية على فتاة تعيش في عالم آخر ترى فيه الجن يرقصون حول المائدة، تتحدث معهم وتراهم حتى أنها تشعر أحياناً بأنها ملكة للجن؛ وأحدهم بعين زرقاء، وهو أكثر ما يظهر لها وهذا الجن هو "أزرقاي" الذي يقوم بتهديدها هو وقبيلته.
وهكذا يبدأ سرد الحكاية منذ دخول حوراء إلى المدرسة، وحادثة الجن، ثم تدهور مستواها وزياراتها للمعالجين، وأخيراً تركها للدراسة وتشاؤمها المستمر والتهديدات التي تتلقاها، كل هذه الأحداث ترويها الأم للطبيب رفعت الذي يبدأ بمعالجتها.. قبل أن تلقي عليه حوراء عبارتها الأخيرة "أنت أيها الغريب الأزرق، تشبه أزرقاي كثيراً".
