يرتكز الخطاب الروائي عند الكاتب هيثم بن محمد البرغش آل ريس على قاعدة أن كلٌّ منا قد خرج من شرنقةٍ ابتداءً من رحمِ أمه، ومن بعد ذلك استقر في أرحامٍ كثيرةٍ تعاد فيها ولادته مِراراً حتى يبقى موجوداً، هكذا ولد «القدّيس» بطلّ روايته، وهكذا سيعيد روي حكايته وحكاية أجداده وأقاربه الذين رحلوا عن الحياة في الوشاحية/شبه الجزيرة العربية، ربما للتأكيد على انتصار الحياة على الموت في هذا المكان الأليف على قلبه، عندئذٍ يصبح الزمكان عند الراوي أداة من أجل التأكيد على وحدة الوجود، ويتمظهر في الرواية عبر اشتغال يقوم على كسر خطية الزمن الحكائي، لصالح نسق اللعب الزماني بما يتخلله من "تواتر، أو توقف، أو استرجاع، أو استباق"، وسرد متلاحق هو سرد ذاتٍ متعالية تتسم بالقداسة، وسيدة لكل محكياتها، هذه الذات/الراوية التي التحمت بذات أعلى وأسمى تتلاقى فيها الأرواح، هي ممكنة روائياً في لحظةٍ من التخيُّل، تسحبُ القارئ إلى كونٍ آخر، ولغة تحكي عن تلك التجربة الروحية لذلك "القدّيس"، وهو يرى "يَدَ القائم أمامي تمسُ خدي برفقٍ لأراهٌ، ثم نشترك في نظرِ كلٍّ منّا إلى الآخر في بُرهةٍ تعدل حِقباً، أرى فيها حياتي بما تحتويها من حيواتٍ ممتدة إلى أن أصل إلى الفراغ ثم أنهضُ وإذا بهِ يخطو آخر خطواته نحو الباب ويرفعُ يده مودعاً قائلاً: "إلى لقاءٍ يا أنا"، فيبلغ في صدري حقلاً من وجهه يصيغ أشجاره كلمات". ثم يقول: "وداعاً إلى لقاءٍ يكتبنا بأجمل المعاني المورقة" فبدا لي أنهُ ذاتي الكاتبة". بهذا الاشتغال الفريد من نوعه تبدو شخصية (صاحب الزمان) في هذا الموقع من النص للتأشير على البعد الزمني المُطلق لمظلومية الإنسانية من جانب؛ وعلى الخير المُطلق الذي تتسم به هذه الشخصية من جانب آخر؛ ويتم ذلك من خلال رصد حركتها في الزمان والمكان ومن ثم حلولها في حياة "القدّيس" من جديد بوصفه مثالاً بشرياً اختزن تجربة إنسانية كبرى تصلح عبراً في كل حين، وسيرى القارئ للنص أنها مُلئت بكثيرٍ من المشاهد والمواقف والرؤى والتأملات منذ لحظة ميلاده وحتى لحظة تحليقه إلى السموات، أما ما بقي منه فستجده الأجيال من بعده في الكتب وبين السطور...
