في استعارة لا تخلو من اختزال أيديولوجي يمكن تفسير اختيار الكاتب العراقي إحسان يونس لروايته عنواناً مثل "بانتظار المنقذ الأعظم" ولكن بعد أن حاول إنزاله من سمائه المتعالية إلى أرضه المحايثة، وعلى نحو يؤول إلى تفسير ما يجري في العالم بنوع من التقية الروائية التي تجنّب صاحبها المساءلة. فمن خلال هذا العمل الفريد والمميز يأخذنا إحسان يونس إلى بسمونا لنشهد مع بطل روايته ممرض الحيوانات المحترف "إنيل" على كارثة مقتل الضواري في أرقى وأغنى محميّة في العالم، محميّة بسمونا الشهيرة، التي تملء ملصقاتها الدّعائيّة جميع أنحاء العالم المتقدم، وفي قنوات الدعاية المختلفة. لقد أبيدت الأسود والنّمور والأفاعي الملونة الجميلة في بيئة يفترض أن تحميها، والأنكى من ذلك كله أنها أبيدت على يد الحمير في مشهد لا يصدق "رأيت الأسود ترتعد وتنهزم عند سماعها طلقة البندقية، والحمير لا تبالي، وتهجم على الضواري". هكذا وصف "إنيل" ما حدث للسيد "ديفز" رئيس محمية الضواري "رأيت الوحوش تقف أمام الحمير، على بعد كافٍ، تتحسّب مهاجمتها، ثم رأيت الحمير تهاجم مندفعة نحو السّيّارة تريد تحطيمها، فأطلقت طلقة في الهواء، خافت الوحوش وهربت، لكنّ الحمير لم تخف وهاجمتني، ولو لم أهرب لحطمت السّيّارة وقتلتني".على هذا الإيقاع المفاجئ في عرض المحكي وبصور بالغة الإيحاء يكشف الكاتب تناقضات السياسة الخارجية العالمية، ويعري فضائح مافيا السلاح في بلادنا التي لا تقل ضراوة عن مافيا الوحوش الآدمية، ويبرز الدور المتصاعد لظاهرة العنف بمختلف تجلياتها من دول ومؤسسات مقنعة بشعارات إنسانيّة وحقوقية والتي تضمر أكثر مما تعلن حتى بدت أشبه بالحمير الوحشية "ما لفت النّظر أن جميع الحمير المهاجمة، والمكدّسة خلف باب السّياج، كانت تضع عمائم سوداً، أو كوفيّات بيضاً، وعُقُلاً سوداً، وطاقيّات عسكريّة "بيريات"، وقبعات أمريكيّة، وأوروبيّة، وهندية ملوّنة على رؤوسها". إنها ثورة الحمير التي يفتتح بها عصرنا الجديد، لتديم سيطرة القوي على الضعيف، تديم سيطرته على العالم، لا لقرن آخر، كما تنبأ السّيّد جورج بوش الأب، ربما لخمسة قرون قادمة وأكثر
