"المثقف الفذ والثورات العربية " هو عنوان الكتاب الذي صدر عن الدار العربية العلوم (ناشرون) للدكتور عمر بسام كايد ،وهو مضمون أطروحة نال عليها شهادة الدكتوراه.
الأطروحة هي من الدراسات القليلة التي تناقش دور المثقف الفذ ومسؤولياته ،لا سيما في زمن التحولات الكبرى التي نشأت عن الثورات العربية التي بدأت في تونس العام 2011 .
وعليه يتناول الكاتب ثلاث شخصيات عربية كان لها دور بارز في هذا المجال:
1- راشد الغنوشي رئيس حركة النهضة المعارضة للنظام التونسي السابق،حيث كان لكتاباته تأثير بالغ في تحريك الشارع التونسي.
2- برهان غليون أحد أهم الباحثين السوريين الذين دعوا الى تحقيق الديموقراطية واحترام حقوق الانسان وبناء دولة المواطنة.
3- عزمي بشارة أحد الباحثين الذين واكبوا التحولات في تونس ومصر وليبيا واليمن وسوريا.
يتضمن الكتاب أربعة فصول يتناول الأول الثورة وتعريفها وأسبابها ومخاطرها ومسؤولية المثقف فيها ،ويكرس فصلا لكل من الشخصيات الثلاث ومسيرته ودوره في هذه التحولات .
يقع الكتاب في 415 صفحة ،وقد استند الكاتب إلى 237 مرجعا ومصدرا في تحقيقه ،ما يدل على الجهد البالغ الذي بذله الزميل عمر كايد لانجازه.
قد لا يتفق البعض مع بعض المضامين ،على الرغم من أن الكاتب حاول جاهدا أن يكون حياديا،لكن الكتاب يستحق أن يُقرأ.
