ولعل ما يرد على لسان عفراء النعيمي/ الكاتبة القطرية في هذا المقتطف من رواية "بطاقات عمل مؤنثة"، يلخص مسارات الشباب القطري في تجربة العمل الأولى، ويعري مظاهر الزيف والنفاق الاجتماعيين، والعقلية الذكورية، وازدواجية المعايير، ولعلها أيضاً تشكل مجتمعة صورة نموذجية لِما تعيشه المرأة العاملة اليوم، وهو ما رصدته الكاتبة من خلال شخصية "بدور" الفتاة الطموحة التي تخرجت من الجامعة وبدأت للتو تجربتها الوظيفية بشركة شبه خاصة تجمع موظفون محليون وأجانب فاستبشرت خيراً، ولكن الحياة لا تجري كما نشتهي، ستواجه بدور صعوبات بالتكيف مع بيئة العمل الجديدة وخاصة في العلاقة مع بنات جنسها، حيث الثرثرة والنميمة والإشاعات والمنافسة في العمل، هذا فضلاً عن اهتمام الجنس الآخر بها ومحاولة الاقتراب منها، إلا أن بدوراً قررت أن تثبت جدارتها في العمل وتحقيق ذاتها حتى ولو سارت وحدها في هذا الطريق، مع أن الأخريات زميلات العمل اللاتي رافقنها "رنا" و"أماني" اختارت كل واحدة منهن طريقاً لا يشبه الآخر وهكذا تشتتن عن المسار الذي جمعهن وخسرن الكثير في سبيل إرضاء الغير.. وربما أرادت الكاتبة هنا القول أن في اجتماع البشر ووحدة الأهداف قوة، وأن الانصات للغير والسماح بالتأثير السلبي للآخرين بالتوغل إلينا، سيؤول في نهاية الطريق إلى الفشل والتشتت والضياع. وكان النصيحة التي اختتمت بها الكاتبة روايتها من طريق كارل ماركس: "سر في طريقك ودع الناس يقولوا كما يشاؤون".
