بين مشهد خروج حواء من ضلع آدم، ومشهد دخول آدم حياة حواء. يتأسس الخطاب الشعري لرانيا سلوان في «رجل من ضلعي»، ليمثل المنجز الشعري الجديد انتصاراً لرؤية غنية بالخيال والصور والإيحاء والجذب والإثارة ولوجود الرجل في عالم المرأة/الشاعرة في حالة تماهٍ لتكون الأنتِ أنا والأنا صورة تحتل الأنتِ؛ لتذوب فيه وتجري منه مجرى الدم في الجسد وتسري في عروقه سريان النار في الهشيم؛ وليكون له اشتعال يجعله طريح سؤالٍ أزلي: لماذا؟ .. لا تكون حياة إلا بـ (امرأة ورجل)، ولماذا يشكل وجوده امتداداً لوجودها، ومن غير هذا الوجود تصبح الذات "المرأة" (حاضرة/ غائبة)، والآخر "الرجل" (حاضراً/ غائباً)، ويستمر السؤال ويبقى عطش ظامئ يبحث عن الارتواء أمام صحراء القلوب.في القصيدة المعنونة «رجلٌ من ضلعي» تقول الشاعرة رانيا سلوان:"من عمقِ الأعماقِ كتبتك قصيدةً لأني من الأعماقِ وجدتكَ/ وأخرجتَ من أعماقي حباً لم أدرِ به يوماً/ كنتَ لروحي اليتيمةِ أباً/ لجسدي العطشِ رياً/ ولقلبي المتشردِ ملجأً/ كنتَ.../ ماضٍ أنت!!/ أجل أصبحتَ ماضٍ بعدما كتبتَ بنفسكَ نهايةً عجزتُ عن كتابة/ سطورها في أول "عمرٍ" لي/ وفي ثاني ولادةٍ/ أنت رجلٌ كنت من صنعي أنا/ كنت رجلاً على ورقٍ ولكن الحبرَ تحوّل إلى دمٍ والورقَ إلى جسدٍ/ أما نبضك وروحك... "أنا"/ لأنك خُلقتَ من ضلعي أنا...".هذا وقد ألحقت الشاعرة رانيا سلوان هذا الإصدار بكتيب شعري عنونته بـ «خاطرة على السطر» جاء على شكل ومضات تبث من خلالها رسائلها إلى الأهل والوطن والأصدقاء والأحبة.
