"أفكارنا ومفاهيمنا في هذه الحياة تختلف عن الواقع الحقيقي الذي نعيشه (أو على الأقل في نظري) فقد فُرضت علينا بضع الآراء دون إرادتنا، وبعضنا الآخر اقتنع بهذه الآراء تحت ضغوط الإيحاءات من التي حولنا، والتي توجهنا لا شعورياً للإيمان بآراء وأفكار وتوجهات محددة لنا مسبقاً لكي نؤمن بها دون إرادتنا أو على الأقل دون أن نفكر في مدى صحتها.أتحدث في هذا الكتاب عن بعض هذه الأمور التي تمر على أي إنسان في مراحل حياته، وأحاول أن أوضح أن هناك العديد من المعتقدات الاجتماعية التي نعيشها ونحن مقتنعين بها (شكلياً)، وهي في حاجة إلى أن نقوم بإعادة تقييم رأينا فيها كي تتناسب مع شخصياتنا الداخلية، ونستطيع بعد ذلك العيش في مجتمعنا بآرائنا وأفكارنا الحقيقية دون تكلف، وأعرض أيضاً وجهة نظري تجاه بعض المواضيع العامة وأوضح أسباب اختلافي في الرأي عن ما هو متعارف عليه بخصوصها.تحدثت في هذا الكتاب بطريقة مباشرة (وغير مباشرة) عن بعض تلك المواضيع والمواقف التي حدثت معي أو مع غيري، وحاولت أن أوضح رأي فيها وما أعتقد أنه الصواب (وربما أكون مخطأ) وأيضاً كتبت بعض (المقامات) في سبيل إبعاد الملل عن القارئ أثناء قراءته النصوص.في الحقيقة أنا أيضاً، أعيش تحت ظلال آراء متضاربة متداخلة، تجعلني في حيرة من أمري، وتؤثر على قراراتي، بحيث يلتبس علي أحياناً الخطأ من الصواب، وأدخل في متاهات وحوارات لا نهائية بين ما تمليه علي نفسي، وما يفرضه المجتمع حولي، لكن، عندما أغرق في هذه الأفكار، وأضيع في هذه المتاهات، أول ما أفعله هو أن أمسك قلمي أو (كيبوردي) وأبدأ في الخربشة".
