في هذا الكتاب تقدم الدكتورة "حياة الخياري" من تونس دراسة نقدية متميزة في مجال دراسة وتحليل الشعر الحروفي العربي جاءت تحت عنوان "قراءة في "نون" أديب كمال الدين".
وفي هذه الدراسة تناولت المؤلفة تجربة أديب كمال الدين الشعرية ضمن مجاميعه الشعرية الحروفية الصوفية مع تركيز خاص على نونيّاته وهي: (نون 1993)، (أخبار المعنى 1996)، (النقطة 2002)، (ما بعد الحرف.. ما قبل النقطة 2006)، (شجرة الحروف 2007)، (أربعون قصيدة عن الحرف 2009)، (أقول الحرف وأعني أصابعي 2011)، (مواقف الألف 2012)، وقد وزعت محتويات الكتاب على مقدمة وأربعة أبواب وخاتمة تحت العناوين الآتية:
مقدمة: "الرمز" و"الحرف": الأسس الصوفية.
الباب الأول: نُون الزمن قاب قوسَيّ الفَلَك والفُلْك.
الباب الثاني: نُون نُوح ونُون يُونس: مياه الفُلْك والحوت: مَلاذٌ أم متاهةٌ؟
الباب الثالث: نُون عيسى ونُون يوسُف: مياه الرّحم وتَوَهان نقطة "الناسُوت".
الباب الرابع: مآل إبحار النّون: غرقُ الحرف أم إجهاض النقطة؟ ويضم شواهد شعرية من القصائد النونية هي: (أ): الافتقار إلى نُون الوزن ونقطة الإيقاع، (ب): الافتقار إلى نون الموطن ونقطة التاريخ، (ج): الافتقار إلى نون الأنوثة ونقطة الخصب، (د): افتقار نُون الدّواة إلى نقطة السِّحْر وقطرة الجُنون، (هـ): افتقار نُون "النص" إلى نقطة "المعنى". وأخيراً خاتمة: نون: الحرف "المسجور" والنقطة المشجرة.
(ملكة؟ عارفة؟ ساحرة؟) عنوان القصيدة التي كتبها الشاعر أديب كمال الدين وأهداها إلى الدكتورة حياة الخياري وفيها نقرأ:
"ستنفق من عمرها التونسي خمس سنين/وهي تطرق في هدوءٍ وصبرٍ عجيبين/بابي الأربعين/لتسأل أما من حاء؟/أما مِن باء؟/أما مِن ماء؟/أما من ألفٍ؟ أما مِن سين؟/لن أجيب على طرقها الذي يهدمُ/شيئاً فشيئاً/ويوماً فآخر/أسرارَ حرفي/في حنانٍ غريب،/ولن أناولها كوزَ ماء./ألأني أكثر عطشاً منها/ومن عجائبها؟/أم لأني لا أجيدُ فتح باب الطلاسم؟/أم لأني أخاف فتح بابي الأربعين؟/ذات يومٍ مُقدّس،/ستفتحُ هذه الحاء التي كحّلتْ/قلبها بسرِّ الحياة/آخرَ بابٍ: بابي الأربعين".
