النحو فنٌّ أو علمٌ من علوم اللغة وفنونها يُعنى بالمعنى قبل أن يعُنى بترتيب الكلمات وتنسيقِها وضبطِ حركاتها وتسميِة الموضع الذي تقعُ فيه الكلمة كأن تكونَ حالاً أو صفة أو فاعلاً أو مفعولاً أو فعلاً مجزوماً أو مرفوعاً أو غير ذلك فما هذه الأشياء إلا لتأدية معنىً مراد دون غيره... وقد كان العرب ينطقون بالإعرابِ من غيرِ تكلّف ولا قواعد... ولا خطأ.
النحو إذن علمٌ مستقل يُنتفَع به في خدمة المعنى وإيضاحهِ وتحديد معالِمهِ في ذهن السامع ونفسه... وتبقى القاعدة النحوية السليمة أساساً في ترتيب الجملة والكلمة الواحدة.. لأجل المعنى ولا غير. فلا غنىً عن النحو في عالمٍ فسدتْ فيه السليقة ولم نعُد نميّز بينَ فاعلٍ ومفعولٍ به، أو بين فعلٍ واسم، ونحن في هذا الوقت أحوجُ منّا في أيِّ وقتٍ آخر للنحو الذي يحفَظُ استقلاليةَ لغتِنا وشخصيتها وطرائقَها الفريدة.. فلو كنا ذوي سليقةٍ (فطرة) سليمةٍ لما احتجنا لعلمٍ يُذكّرنا بأساليب لغتِنا التي يجبُ أن لا نُهملَها، فبوساطةِ النحو نفهم المعنى المراد منا فهمُهُ أو نسكُبُ ما نشاءُ من معنىً في قالبٍ لفظيٍّ سليم يفهمُه الآخرون... وفي النهاية فأن القاعدة النحوية ما وُجدت لذاتِها أو لأجلِ أن تكونَ فحسب.. إنما لتحافظَ على سلامةِ اللسان الذي كدنا نفقدها ولكي نحافظ على شخصية لغةٍ أمست ضَرباً من التخلّف والتعلّق بأذيالِ الماضي في اعتقادِ كثيرٍ من دعاةِ العلمِ والثقافة وليسوا من العلم أو الثقافة في شيءٍ.
