يُعتَبرُ الأدبُ، بشكل عام، صورةً حيّةً من صُورِ الحياةِ، والأديبُ، شاعراً كانَ أو ناثراً، يُشركُ في عملهِ مشَاعرَه وخبرتَه ونظرتَه. وعلى قدرِ ما يُجيدُ في إيصالها، لتستقرّ في فكر النّاسِ جيلاً بعدَ جيل.يشكل كتاب «كنُوزُ النَّثرْ في تُراث العَربَ» للكاتبة جولي مراد دراسة حول نشأة النَّثرْ في تاريخ الأدب العربي وأغراضه وروّاده انطلاقاً من روائعه التي أُنشئت في العصر الجاهليّ، مروراً بعصر صدر الإسلام والعصر الأُمويّ والعصر العبّاسيّ والأدب الأندلسيّ وصولاً إلى عصور الانحطاط. وتفعل الكاتبة ذلك بالاستناد على أهمّ ما صدر في هذا المجال، بدءاً بتاريخ الأدب العربيّ لكارل بروكلمن، وتاريخ آداب اللغة العربيّة لمصطفى صادق الرافعي، وسلسلة تاريخ الأدب العربيّ لشوقي ضيف، وتاريخ آداب العرب لجرجي زيدان، والمجاني الحديثة في أجزائها الخمسة لمجموعةٍ من الأساتذة الجامعيّين، ومجموعة "الروائع" الطّلابيّة التي تتألّفُ من سبعة وخمسين جزءاً للدكتور فؤاد افرام البستانيّ وسواه من محقِّقين في مختلف الأقطار العربيّة.يحتوي الكتاب دراسات لمقطوعات نثريةٍ للعصور الآنفة الذكر أعلاه، ويبدأ بمقدمة عامة حول تاريخ النثر وأغراضه وفنونه وروّاده وآراء الكتّاب حوله وقد انتخبت الكاتبة للقارئ طائفةً أدبيَّةً يتصدّرها فَنّ الخطابة، وتتبعها المنافرات، وسجع الكهّان، ثمّ الحكم والأمثال، والوصايا أو النصائح، ثمّ القصص فالرّسائل.
