Book Description
"صوفة" و"كتّان" و"دودو" و"كفكوف" أربع دمى تعيش معاً في بيت الدّمى الخاص بها. ذات صباح، يستقيظ هرهور باكراً، فيجد الظلام حالكاً، والجميع لا يزالون نائمين، فيعود لمتابعة نومه. وبعد قليل، يستيقظ "كفكوف" من نومه فيجد الغرفة مظلمة، ولا يستطيع معرفة حال الطقس بسبب الظلمة.
يحاول الجميع الجلوس إلى المائدة لتناول الفطور، فيبدأ الجدل بين الأصدقاء الأربعة لدى سعي كل واحد منهم إلى إثبات ملكيته لأحد الكراسي الثلاثة المحيطة بالمائدة؛ وبالتالي حقهُ في الجلوس عليه. ويستمر الأمر كذلك إلى أن يمرّ "هرهور" ويسألهم عن عددهم وعدد الكراسي الموجودة حول المائدة، وفي تلك اللحظة يدرك الجميع أن هناك كرسياً ناقصاً، ويتم إحضاره وتحلَّ المشكلة.
وأخيراً، وفيما الأصدقاء الأربعة يتناولون الفطور، يستغل "هرهور" انشغالهم بخلافاتهم كالمعتاد، ويلعق الحليب الذي انسكب من فنجان "صوفة" على الأرض.
"صباح الدُّمى" قصة طريفة من أدب الأطفال في لاتفيا تساعد الأهل في تعليم أطفالهم "آداب المائدة"، والترغيب بطعام الفطور، ومن ثم إقناعهم بضرورة تناول بعض الأصناف لنموهم.. فإن لم تأكل طعامك اللذيذ يا صغيري فسيأكله "هرهور"..
"أمّا إنْ لمْ تصدّق شيئاً.. فاسألْ صديقَنا الذّكيَّ هرهور..".
