Book Description
شغل « نوبار باشا »القادم من أصول أرمنية مناصب عديدة فى حكومات مصرية متعاقبة، إذ عمل وزيرًا للنقل والأشغال والداخلية والخارجية، كما اختير أول رئيس وزراء لمصر فى مجلس النظار الذى أسسه الخديو إسماعيل عام 1878. وشغل هذا المنصب مرات ثلاثًا قبل أن يُتوفى عام 1899 . كتب «نوبار باشا » هذه المذكرات عندما بلغ الخامسة والستين وتناول فيها الفترة من عام 1842 وحتى عام 1879، وهى الفترة منذ قدومه إلى مصر وحتى أن عزله « الخديو إسماعيل». وتكشف المذكرات، التى تترجَم هنا كاملة للمرة الأولى، عن الوجه الآخر لنوبار باشا الذى كثيرًا ما تعرض للاتهام بموالاته للأجانب على حساب المصريين، وهو يقدم هنا ما يؤكد ضيقه بسيطرة الأجانب على الوضع العام فى مصر، وسعيه لتأسيس المحاكم المختلطة للحد من هذه السيطرة ثم يتناول علاقته بكل من العضوين الإنجليزى والفرنسى فى مجلس النظار الأول. وهذا الكتاب يضع بين يدى القارئ والباحث تفسير نوبار باشا للقرار الذى أحدث زلزالاً فى التاريخ المصرى الحديث، وهو تسريح 2500 ضابط من قوات الجيش، مما أدى إلى مظاهرة الضباط الشهيرة فى 18 فبراير 1879 .
