ما يزال اقتصاد الصين ينمو منذ نهاية الربع الثالث من العام 2009 حيث أصبحت الزيادة الحادّة في مستويات الأسعار في الربع الثاني للعام 2010 المحور الذي تدور عليه المضاربات. كَثُر النقاش حول أسباب، وتطوّر، واتجاه، وإدارة دورة التضخّم هذه وما يرتبط بها من تنبؤات. أجرى منتدى الاقتصاد الكلّي الصيني بقيادة البروفيسور ليو يوانتشوان وفريقه من جامعة رنمين الصينية، عدداً كبيراً من الأبحاث الخاصة بهذه المواضيع. تمّ إطلاع المجتمع على نتائج الأبحاث من خلال صياغة "تقارير النتائج الرئيسية"، و"المراجع الداخلية"، والأوراق الأكاديمية التي هي مجموعة في هذا الكتاب. وبناءً على ما تقدم تناول كتاب «إدارة التضخّم في الصين» الاتجاهات الحالية والاستراتيجيات الجديدة التي تتبعها الصين في معالجة موضوع التضخّم وفقاً لستة أوجه رئيسية تم عرضها في عشرون فصلاً أثمرت عن جهد بحثي اشترك في إعداده ليو يوانتشون وآخرون على شكل تقرير وضعوا فيه نتائج أبحاث منتدى الاقتصاد الكلّي الصيني في جامعة رنمين الصينية، وهو جزء من مشروع الصندوق الوطني للعلوم الاجتماعية الذي يحمل عنوان "بحث في العلاقات بين الحفاظ على نموّ اقتصادي مستقرّ، وتعديل الهيكل الاقتصادي، وإدارة توقّعات التضخّم"، ومشروع مشاورات صنع القرار للصندوق الوطني للعلوم الاجتماعية المعنون "تحليل وتوقّع الاقتصاد الكلّي للصين"، وتقرير الفلسفة وتنمية العلوم الاجتماعية الذي جاء تحت عنوان "تحليل وتوقّع الاقتصاد الكلّي للصين" المموَّل من قِبَل وزارة التربية الصينية.
