ماريو جيانلويجي بوزو (بالإنجليزية: Mario Gianluigi Puzo ) (من 15 أكتوبر 1920 إلى 2 يوليو 1999) كاتب وروائي أمريكي، أشتهر بروايته عن المافيا، ومن أشهرها رواية العراب والتي أقتبسها وأخرجها للسينما المخرج فرانسيس فورد كوبولا.

تعتبر رواية العراب من الروائع الأدبية التي شهدتها البشرية، وقيل أنه عكف على كتابتها في مدة تتراوح بين ست إلى سبع سنوات، تم تحويل الرواية إلى فيلم العراب الذي يتكون من ثلاث اجزاء واخرج الفلم عام 1972 بطولة الممثل آل باتشينووحصل على الأكاديمي أوارد.ثم الجزء الثاني عام 1974أيضاً حصل على الأكاديمي اوارد، ثم الجزء الأخير من الثلاثية عام 1990.

"العراب" هو الرواية التي سجلت منذ صدورها أكبر رقم في التوزيع عرفته أية رواية عالمية حتى اليوم. فهي ما تزال تباع بالملايين في جميع أنحاء العالم بعد أن ترجمت إلى معظم اللغات. وقد اقتبس منها حديثاً فيلم ضخم يعرض في كثير من دور السينما في العالم ويشهد إقبالاً فاق الإقبال على أشهر فيلمين عالميين هما: "ذهب مع الريح" و"صوت الموسيقى".
ولكن من يقرأ الرواية يلمس الفرق الكبير بينها وبين الفيلم الذي يمكن اعتباره صورة مشوهة عنها. لأن الرواية التي كتبها ماريو بوزو أجمل وأغنى بالأحداث وأعمق بالتحليل من الفيلم. وبالرغم من أن هذه الرواية تشد القارئ إليها وتتركه مذهولاً، فإنها تعطي أصدق صورة لتحلل المجتمع الأميركي الذي يخضع، حتى أعلى مستوى فيه، لنفوذ عصابات "المافيا"، هذه العصابات التي يمثل دون كورليون "العراب" رأساً من رؤوسها الخطيرة ويمثل أولاده فيها أدوار القتل والإجرام والجنس والوحشية...
إن "العراب" إدانة للمجتمع الأميركي وللإجرام الرأسمالي الذي يقوم عليه والذي يخلق هذه الطبقة من "المافيا" ذات النفوذ الخطيرة الممتد إلى النقابات ومجلس الشيوخ وسائر السلطات التي تشد خيوط الحياة الأميركية.
وبراعة المؤلف تقوم على تصوير الجريمة تحت مظهر الاحترام والوقار. ووزاء عنوان "العراب" البريء، يجد القارئ خمسمئة صفحة محشوة بالديناميت.
