يطالعنا هذا النص الروائي للكاتب "جمال ضاهر"، أكثر من عنصر ينسج غلائل الترميز المدثرة للسرد والتأملات الفلسفية. ويتكئ هذا الترميز على نوع من "السرد التجريدي"، أي السرد الذي لا يتورط في التفاصيل المعينة للزمان والمكان والشروط المحيطة بالشخوص... لذلك، يمكن إدخاله في خانة "المحكي الشعري"، إلا أن الكاتب يجعل الترميز محفوفاً بغير قليل من الالتباس، وهو ما يفتح النصّ على تأويلات عديدة تظل دائماً موصلة بأسئلة ذات طابع فلسفي، ميتافيزيقيك كيف نتخيل تكوّن العالم؟ ما الموت؟ هل الحياة ممكنة بدون لذة؟ ما علاقة الإنسان بالزمن والفعل؟... غير أن هذه الموضوعات لا تأتي مباشرة وإنما مدسوسة في ثنايا السرد المتداخل لمحكيات تتوزع على محورين أحدهما يحكي عن مصير قريةٍ ناسُها خاملون استسلموا وآثروا الاستمتاع بالكسل ورخاوة العظام..، والمحور الآخر يحكي قصة قافلة كانت تضم رجلاً وزوجته الجميلة وأبناءه وأخواته، لكن الرجل مات فجأة فتعرّضت الزوجة للانتهاك، والعائلة للضياع والاندثار، وتحوّل الرجل الميت إلى قصة تَسْرُدُها الزوجة، بدلاً من أن يتمَّ الحفاظ عليه وتكريمه ضمن "حاضر له مستقبل" كما اقترحت صغرى أخواته. ويبدو أن الرجل الذي عَاجَلَه الموت كان مُتفرداً، لقًّب نفسه منذ الطفولة بـ"المحلق الطائر"، ولم يكن يشبه الآخرين من عشيرته فضاقوا به ذرعاً ولم يتقبّلوا حرصه على الاختلاف... وما تحكيه العجوز للسارد عن القرية التي تعيش خارج الزمن، يشتمل على عناصر قد تنطبق على علاقة مجتمعاتنا العربية بالزمان، خاصة عندما تَرِدُ قصة شبان ثلاثة تاهوا وناموا ثلاثمائة سنة ثم انتبهوا من غفوتهم فوجدوا أن المكان تغيّر "ولا شيء جرى عليهم"...
