هو قاص وروائي وناقد وكاتب مسرحي لبناني، ولد في العاصمة اللبنانية بيروت عام 1948.
كتب عشر روايات ترجمت إلى العديد من اللغات وثلاث مسرحيات وله العديد من الكتابات النقدية.

قال آدم لدالية عندما سألتْه عن مشروعه المؤجَّل لكتابة رواية، إنَّه لن يكتبَ لأنّه يخشى أن يكون في صدد تأليف ضريح للحكايات. كلُّ كتابة عن النكبة هي مقبرة، وأنا لستُ حارسًا للمقابر.
«فكرة مدهشة»، قالت دالية، «تذكِّرني بمكتبة بورخيس. بدلًا من المكتبة مقبرة. وبدلًا من أن تضع الكتبَ على رفوفها، تحفر بالكلمات قبورًا للكلمات».
«فكرة مرعبة»، قال آدم، «ثمَّ مَن أنا كي أقلّد بورخيس؟ كي تكتب الأعماق، كما كتب هذا الأرجنتينيُّ، أو كما كتب أبو العلاء، يجب أن تكون أعمى، وأنا لستُ».
«لكنَّك أخرس. هناك كثيرٌ من الكتّاب العميان، أمّا الكاتب الأخرس فستكون أنت».
