الحبيب السالمي روائي تونسي من مواليد قرية العلا في تونس عام 1951.
أصدر ثماني روايات ومجموعتين قصصيتين وتُرجم عدد من قصصه إلى الإنكليزية والنرويجية والعبرية والفرنسية كما ترجمت رواياته إلى الإنجليزية والفرنسية والألمانية والإيطالية.
نُشرت روايته ألاولى "جبل العنز" بالفرنسية عام 1999 ونشرت روايته "عشّاق بيه" بالفرنسية عام 2003.
من بين رواياته الأخرى "صورة بدوي ميت" (1990)، "متاهات الرمل" (1994)، "حفر دافئة" (1999)٬ "أسرار عبد الله" (2004) و"روائح ماري كلير" (2009) التي وصلت إلى القائمة القصيرة للجائزة العالمية للرواية العربية عام 2009 وصدرت بالإنجليزية عن دار آرابية هذه السنة.
الحبيب السالمي مقيم في باريس منذ سنة 1985.

لا شيء يعكِّر صفو الصداقة القديمة التي تربط بينهما. وحياتُهما البسيطة في هذه القرية التونسيَّة النائية في ريف القيروان تمضي هادئةً رتيبة . لكنَّ إحدى الإشاعات الغريبة التي تكاثرتْ بعد ثورة 2011 فضحت أحد أسرارهما الدفينة وأعادتهما إلى واقعة مؤلمة من ماضٍ بعيدٍ غامضٍ يريدان نسيانه. تملــّـكهما الخوف وغزتهما الشكوك. وشاب علاقتَهما التوتُّرُ، حتى إنَّ فردًا من عائلة أحدهما وضع خطَّةً محكمةً لقتل الآخر انتقامًا وتشفِّيًا.
على خلفيّة الثورة ترسم الروايةُ عالمًا شديدَ الخصوصيَّة، تَحْكمه قيمٌ ومفاهيمُ وتصوُّراتٌ عن هشاشة الحبّ والجنس وحدودِ الصداقة وبكارةِ جسد الأنثى وكلّ ما يرتبط بها من استيهامات في وعي العربيّ ومخيِّلته.
الحبيب السالمي: روائيّ تونسيّ. صدرتْ له عدَّة روايات. اختيرت روايتاه روائح ماري كلير، ونساء البساتين، الصادرتان عن دار الآداب، ضمن القائمة القصيرة للجائزة العالميَّة للرواية العربيَّة (البوكر العربيَّة) في دَوْرتي 2009 و2012. تُرجمتْ رواياتُه إلى العديد من اللغات.
