ما هو الاتجاه الإنساني؟ إنه سؤال قديم يحاول مروان فارس الإجابة عليه باحثاً بدوره في الثقافات والبنى. فالثقافات أعمال يذهب إليها ولذلك فإن عدداً من الأبحاث التي يتشكل منها الكتاب تشهد على ذلك، فالبنى إنما هي لغات، ووراء كل لغة منها خطاب. لذلك فهو يمضي إذن إلى الخطاب الذي هو من صنع الصوت ومن صنع الصور الصوتية والإيقاعات، وهو يمضي إلى الأثر الذي يعتبر من نسج الوحي فيبحث عن المادة العميقة للإيحاء، لأنه، كما أكده لنا علماء المعنى. فالإيحاء بذاته كما هو مثلاً عند جبران أو حاوي إنما هو معطى ما ورائي، فهذا الإيحاء على أي من المستويات كان إنما هو غير ملحوظة للوهلة الأولى فهو نتاج لمواد ينتجها. من هنا فإن الرابط بين الإيحاء والبناء يظهر وكأنه هو عروة الوصل السرية من خلال محاولات هذا الكتاب الثاقب والقوي.
إنها عروة الوصل في ما يبدو متبايناً، والإطار المرتعش في موسيقى العالم الذي يتم البحث عنه. وحتى يؤكد حرصه على ذاته، فإن هذا الكتاب يثبت الوحدة في تفكير يتعاطى مع دلالات موزعة في حضورنا في الكون، هذا الكون الذي لا يستطيع لملمته إلا الشعر، مؤسساً بذلك في داخل كل لغة وكل شاعر وعلى متنها هيكلاً لوحدة مقبلة (لأن كل شاعر ضمن كل لغة هو المبدع مطلقاً للغة أخرى) فالشاعر هو ذلك الذي تذهب عبره الوحدة إلى ذاتها.
