يضم الكتاب مجموعة من المخاطبات التي توجه بها الحسيني في مناسبات هامة، البيانات التي كانت له في مجالات مختلفة، والتصريحات التي أدلى بها في ظروف سياسية حساسة، وهذه المجموعة من المخاطبات والبيانات والتصريحات شملت فترة زمنية امتدت من 1993/9/5 إلى 1994/2/14. وقد عكست هذه المجموعة خط الرئيس حسين الحسيني ودوره في السياسة اللبنانية كواحد من أهم شخصياتها الذين تناوبوا على رئاسة مجلس السنوات حيناً والذين كان لهم دورهم الإيجابي خارج الحكم من موقع المعارضة. وقد كانت له إضاءات من خلال تلك المجموعة على مسائل حساسة شغلت ساحة السياسة اللبنانية آنذاك من مثل حرية الصحافة واستقلال القضاء، والدور الأهم الذي تلعبه المؤسسات والذي يفوت دور الزعيم الأوحد، وحول مشروع إنماء الضواحي، ودعوة لقيام حكومة بديلة، وسياسة إغراق لبنان في الديون. كما كان له أحاديث هامة حول المعارضة التي اعتبرها واجبة ومسؤولة وحول مبادئ المعارضة وعن ظاهرة الشخص الذي يحمل في جيبه الإنقاذ، وعن الجنوب وهمومه، وعن التوطين وهوية الصراع مع إسرائيل، وغيرها من المواضيع التي حملت الكثير من الانتقادات البناءة لتجاوز قضايا لبنان السياسية من خلال أفكار وطروح بناءة حملت الخير للبنان أرضاً ومواطنين.
