لم يعتمد الكاتب على ذاكرته بل على مفكّرته الشخصية وما دُوِّن فيها. وقد أولى حقبة تعامله مع طوني بلير الحصة الكبرى، فاستغرق في نقل المجريات كما حصلت بتفاصيل تثير فضول القراء: ساسة وصحافيين وصيّادين في الماء العكر.
استعرض شخصية بلير منذ أن أطلّ ببذة لا تناسبه، وابتسامة عريضة ستصبح مشهورة في العالم كله. وتحدث عن ماضيه حيث ترعرع في طبقة متوسّطة وتقوّى بإيمان مسيحيٍّ عميق.

- تشدُّده حيال الجريمة وأسبابها.
- إنجازاته العديدة بدءاَ من مضاعفة الإنفاق على التلميذ الواحد في المدرسة وانتهاءً بمنح مثلييي الجنس حقوقاً جديدة.
• وصف جرأته في القرارات الكبرى وقدم صورة مكتملة لرجل يتمتّع بدافع ورؤية هائلين.
يوميات كان بيل كلينتون حاضراً في أحداثها وقد انعكس ضعفه جلياً فيها. وكذلك الإدارة الأميركية وحقائق التعاطي معها.
يوميات كان طوني بلير يدرك أنها تكتب في الخفاء، لكنه لم يعارض ذلك.
