إن الكتابة عن عليا الصلح عمل صعب للغاية. فهي رقيقة إلى الحد الذي لا أسمح لنفسي أن أخدشه. وهي في الوقت نفسه حاسمة إلى الحد الذي يثير في بعض الناس شيئاً من التحفظ من شدة بأسها وقسوة كلماتها. لكن من أين لهؤلاء أن يعرفوا أنها عاشت، وملأت الدنيا، وأدهشت الناس، بسلاح تملكه دون سواها هو الرقة المخزونة في قلب كبير ينبض بالحياة والمحبة والجرأة الفائقة. ولذلك كانت تختلط أمام الناس صورة عليا الصلح الحقيقية. فهي الأبيض وهي الأسود. وهي الكلمة الجريئة وهي الصمت المتكلم. وهي النار وهي الماء، وليس أحد يملك هذه المتناقضات إلا الطبيعة ذاتها كي لا أقول الأولياء والقديسين.
