يمضي معرّ زيود في توصيف رحلة الجسد والروح، منفلتا إلى كل الأمكنة المتاحة، وكأنّ السّكون والضيق زنازين موصدة للرّوح المغتربة والجسد المهتاج. فلا تستعرض الرّحلة فتوحات العشق واللذة بقدر ما توغل بضوئها الكشاف في امتصاص إحساس ثخين بالضياع، ضياع النفس وضياع الوطن الذي تأكله أفواه أبنائه، كما يأكله سوس الفساد وسطوة المتطرّفين.
