ترك سمير القنطار مقعده في المدرسة، قاد عملية نهاريا في فلسطين المحتلّة نيسان/أبريل 1979، واعتقل.
ثلاثة عقود في السجن الإسرائيلي. صار الفتى رجلاً، واختمر المناضل الذي خاض سلسلة إضرابات مطلبية من داخل زنزانته. حصّل مع رفاقه حقوقاً للأسرى. ولم يضيّع لحظة في حبسه فانتزع لنفسه شهادة البكالوريوس من جامعة تل أبيب المفتوحة.
يكتب حسان الزين تلك الحياة الموزّعة بين "زمنين"، منذ وداع "أبو العبّاس" ولغاية لقاء حسن نصر الله. ويحكي سمير للكاتب معلومات وذكريات، يرويها للمرّة الأولى، فيما هما يستعيدان القصة من بدايتها. هكذا، تتحاور أصوات الماضي والحاضر، وتتصارع، في نصٍّ بضمير الـ"أنا"...
