تمثل البرمجة الحركات التلقائية التي يتم إكتسابها والتقيّد بها مدى الحياة، هذه الحركات ضرورية؛ لأن الكائن البشري بإستطاعته، تبعاً لأعمال "جورج ميلر"، أن يأخذ في الإعتبار، وفي آن واحد 7 + 2 معلومات أو مجموعة من معلومات، تشعر بدرجة الحرارة السائدة في الخارج، وتبقى مع ذلك متهيئاً على حذر إن كان أولادك يلعبون بقربك، أما بعد هذه المعلومات السبع، فيصبح إدراك بعض العناصر مشوشاً أو معدوماً كليّاً، نظراً لكون إمكانات بعض العناصر مشوشاً أو معدوماً كليّاً، نظراً لكون إمكانات الإدراك الحسّي الواعي محدودة بطبيعة الحال، عندها يحلّ العقل الباطن محلّه ليؤدي دور خزّان للحركات التلقائية اللاإدارية، وهذا هو، على كل حال، تعريف برمجة بالذات، والغاية المتوخاة من ورا كل عملية تعلّم.
