ولد في بغداد علم 1923.
تخرّج من كلية الاقتصاد والتجارة عام 1950.
شغل عام 1945 منصب المدير العام للبنك التجاري العراقي، ثم انتخب عام 1958 عضواً في جمعية الاقتصاديين العراقيين.
هاجر إلى بريطانيا علم 1963.
Book Description
لجنوب العراق تاريخه المثقل بالحزن والدم والسجن والنفي، ولأهل هذا "الجنوب" عاداتهم المختلفة و"طقوسهم" الخاصة في التعبير عن الفرح والألم والثورة. وإذ مثّل العراق، منذ تكوينه، مؤشراً و"بارومتر" حساساً على ازدهار العرب وتوقعاتهم، فإن "الجنوب" كان "النافذة" التي أطل منها العراق على العالم الخارجي، بمنفيّيه ولاجئيه السياسيين، والهاربين من "الموت" الذي لا يزال يطارد شعب هذا البلد، ويسم تاريخه الحديث.
يعرض الكاتب طفولته ونشأته وسيرة حياته الاجتماعية والسياسية حتى ما بعد نفيه، ويعرض من خلالها الحياة الاجتماعية والسياسية والدينية لسكان جنوب العراق: يتطرق إلى ممارساتهم الدينية، وطريقة عيشهم في ظل السجن والقهر. ويتوغل في مدن الجنوب العراقي وقراه، ويتقصّى أحوال أهلها. ويتوقف عند ثورة 14 تموز/ يوليو1958 والحيثيات التي مهّدت، في ما بعد، لوصول حزب البعث إلى السلطة، بما مثّل انقلاباً في الكيان العراقي ومستقبل العالم العربي، وترك أثراً كبيراً في حياة سكان جنوب العراق خصوصاً، من نتائجه سجن عدد كبير منهم ونفيهم وقتلهم، وكان الكاتب إحدى ضحاياه وشهوده الأحياء!
