يلتقي بطل الرواية روبكوب المريض بتومش، الذي يأخذه إلى منزله ليرعاه. يكشف روبكوب لتومش سر اكتشافه لمركّب ما يستطيع أن يصنع منه قنبلة شديدة الانفجار. وذات يوم يستيقظ روبكوب ليجد أن تومش قد رحل، تأتي فتاة لتسلم طرد إلى تومش ويعدها روبكوب بالبحث عنه وتسليم الطرد إليه. يبدأ روبكوب رحلته في البحث عن تومش ليكتشف في رحلته أن تومش قد أفشى سرّه وأن هناك من يحاول صناعة أسلحة باستخدام معادلته.
