وعلى الرغم من أن عنوان الكتاب يشير إلى أنه كتاب عن البنوك المركزية، إلا أن “العريان” حرص على تقديم جولة كبيرة من التحديات التي نواجهها في عالم اليوم، إلى جانب تقديم الحلول والنتائج الأكثر احتمالية لمستقبل الاقتصاد العالمي، كما أنه يناقش العديد من الموضوعات المختلفة مثل التنوع المعرفي والتحيز الثقافي وارتباط ذلك بتحقيق النمو الاقتصادي، وبالتالي يمكن القول إن الكتاب يقدم تحليلًا واسعًا حول هذا العالم المتشعب، الذي تسوده تحديات عدة تتمثل في النمو المنخفض والشعبوية المتزايدة والسياسات الحزبية الخاطئة التي نراها يوميًا من البلدان المتقدمة وعلى رأسها الولايات المتحدة وصولًا إلى البلدان النامية وعلى رأسها الصين.
