قبل نشر تلك المجموعة القصصية بعشرين عاما, كان المؤلف في مطار القاهرة استعداداً لرحلة لم يكن يعلم كيف ستنتهي, غير ان تلك الرحلة بدأت منذ ذلك الحين و حتي الأن لم تنته.. في طريقه إلي الخارج, و بالتحديد إلي كندا.. ترك خلفه الكثير من احلام الشباب التي تاهت بين سطوة الأيام في مصر, و بين احلام الهجرة المفعمة بالتخيلات الوردية..فنحن نسافر لأننا نشعر بالغربة في اوطاننا..نشعر بالاغتراب عن مجتمعنا.. او للبحث عن حياة افضل نحلم بها, او مغامرة مثيرة نتوق اليها.. لكن في لحظات السير في تلك الشوارع النظيفة و المباني الشاهقة و البيوت الجميلة..أثناء التسكع بين تلك الحسناوات و الشباب و الفتيات الذين ينعمون بنموذج من الحرية و الافكار لم نعتده نحن المصريين.. حينما نذهب للتنزه في تلك المدن المبهجة.. ندرك كم بقينا غرباء رغم السفر.
في هذا الكتاب الممتلئ بالتفاصيل المبهجة احياناً و الحزينة احياناً أخري.. سوف تهاجر في رحلة خاصة امتدت لعشرين سنة خارج حدود الوطن.
