يدخل "يوسف القاضي" الحمام, ويقف أمام المرآة, يشعل شمعتين على جانبي المرآة, ثم تسمع زوجته بالخارج صوت صرخة عالية يطول الصمت بعدها, تحاول جاهدة أن تفتح الباب بلا أمل, وبعد استدعاء بواو العمارة وكسر الباب يكتشفوا أن يوسف القاضي قد إختفى إلى الأبد تاركًا خلفه عبارة واحدة : "لأنه تجرأ" .. مكتوبة بالدماء على مرآة الحمام, باب الحمام مغلقا لا يوجد فيه مكان للهرب .. كان بابًا ذو اتجاه واحد, دخل إليه يوسف فابتلعه ولم يخرج أبدًا! تلك لم تكن سوى البداية.
في هذه الرواية نحاول اكتشاف أين اختفى يوسف؟ كيف حدث ذلك؟ وما سر تلك العبارة العجيبة والملطخة بالدماء التي تركها "يوسف" خلفه قبل أن يختفي إلى الأبد؟
