ـ ولد بيوم 31 يناير سنة 1946 في فالنسيا بإسبانيا وانتقل إلى مدريد وهو في السادسة من عمره وأقام فيها منذ ذلك الحين .
ـ درس الفلسفة والآداب بجامعة كومبلوتس ويعمل الآن بالصحافة ومقالاته لا تقل جمالاً من الناحية الأدبية عن مؤلفاته القصصية والروائية .
ـ كتب الرواية والقصة القصيرة والمقالة وجمع بين احترام النقاد والمتخصصين والإنتشار الجماهيري حيث تحقق كتبه أعلى المبيعات في إسبانيا ، وذلك يرجع بلا شك إلى العمق الذي يتميز به والخلط بين المشاعر والفلسفة وبين الواقع والخيال والنظرة المنطقية للأشياء ، حيث البدء بمقدمات تفضي إلى نتائج تبدو بالنظرة المجردة غير مقبولة ، وبالنظرة العميقة هي حقيقة الحقائق .
ـ بدأ حياته الأدبية برواية "العقل هو الظلال" سنة 1974 ثم توالت أعماله التي شكلت مسيرته الإبداعية ومن أهمها : "امرأتان في براغ" "هي تتخيل" "الحديقة الخالية" "ساذج وميت وابن حرام وغير مرئي" "هكذا كانت الوحدة" "العالم" ـ ترجمت أعماله إلى أكثر من 15 لغة .

في اليوم التالي، رغم أنهم استيقظوا جميعاً في الساعة المعتادة، شَعَرَ دميان لوبو من داخل كهفه بالاضطرابات السابقة للسَّفَر. ظلّ مفتوحاً باب الخزانة الخشبي الرئيس، حيث تُدخِلُ لوثيا ملابسَها، بينما كانت تُعدّ حقيبتها، هكذا لم تجدْ ضوضاء العالم الخارجي أيّ مقاومة، لتصلَ إلى دميان، باستثناء حائط خشب رقائقي، ألصق فيه أذنَيْه الاثنَتَيْن. بحسب ما حكى لإنياكي جابيلوندو، الذي أجبرَ دميان على العودة، كان بوسعه الاستماع لصوت رهيف مثل الشمّاعات التي تسحبها يد لوثيا. - ضوضاء طفيفة جداً، أظنّ - أشار الصُّحُفي. - تخيّل: الصخب الناتج عن احتكاك عُلّيقة الشمّاعة بالحامل المعدني. - قد أقول إنكَ اكتسبتَ مهارات الأعمى. - وما العمل؟! تحسّرتُ لأني لم أثقبْ في الخشب الرقائقي ثقبًا صغيرًا، لأستغلّ فرصة مثل هذه لأرى لوثيا. فما أزال لا أعرف وجهها إلا من الصور.
