اتجهتُ نحو "السيفة". خلو المكان أغراني كي أتشبع منه. رفعتُ عباءتي قليلًا لأخوض في مياهه. أراقب قدميَّ كما كنتُ أفعل في طفولتي خوفًا من لسعة قنديل بحرٍ أو زجاجٍ مكسور. أراهما تلتمعان تحت المياه التي تخترقهاأشعة الشمس. ماذا يفعل الناس الذين لا خور لديهم ولا بحر؟ كيف يرطبون أحزانهم ويغسلون أوجاعهم؟ لمن يشتكون ويبثون أسرارهم؟ إنه ملاذي حين تضيق بي الدنيا وحين تبتسم أيضا. قوارب "العبرة" في حالة حركةٍ مستمرة بين ضفتي الخور. كنا أنا ومريوم نصنع قوارب ورقية وندفعها دفعًا نحو الضفة الأخرى. عندما كبرنا قليلًا بدأنا نكتب رسائل في قصاصات ورق صغيرة وندسها في تلك القوارب. كلماتٌساذجةٌ تشبهنا. نختلق بعدها قصصًا وحكاياتٍ عن شخص يحالفه الحظ بالحصول على تلك الرسائل. نتخيّله يقرأها. يحفظ اسمي واسمها. يعبر الخور للبحث عنا. رحلت مريوم، ورحلت معها كل القوارب والحكايا التي كتبناها. لعلها تقبع في مكان ما تحت أعماق الخور، ربما قرب تلك السفينة التي حملت أمي على متنها ذات يوم.
