حق على الإنسان أن يبحث في حياته عن معنى لها، متخذاً طرقاً وأساليبَ سوّية تقبل التجديد دائماً، دون زيف أو إذعان للتقليدية والمحدودية من هذا العالم الكبير جداً، جاءت فكرة عمل هذا الكتاب إستخلاصاً من الواقع الذي يتطلب منّا جميعاً أن نعيد النظر فيه عند كل خطوة يخطوها الزمن بنا، لنتمكن من تشكيله حسب متطلباتنا والبحث عن إمتلاك قدرة للسير على متن الحياة، لذلك بدأت بما هو الأهم والذي أرى أنه يمثل بذرة الحياة الحقيقية، ألا وهي القراءة.
تطرّقت في هذا الكتاب لعدة مواضيع أهمها: (إقرأ) القرآنية، ودلالتها النحوية والتفسيرية، وإعادة البحث عن مفهوم لها مع مفهوم (ما أنا بقارئ) في قول الرسول صلى الله عليه وسلم، وإرتباطهما بقراءة اليوم، الفصل بين الحقيقة والوهم في كل من: القراءة، الكتابة، الثقافة، وعرض بعض الأساليب والسلوكيات الذي يتبعها القارئ والكاتب والمثقف، الثقافة والبحث عن مخرج من مأزق التعريف بها، وأن العقل هو أساس تطور الإنسان، وبه يؤدي مهمته في هذا الخلق، الإدراك والمادة ومدى علاقتهما بالقراءة، موجز بسيط عن تاريخ الكتابة ودوافعها.
وقد عرضت بعض قراءاتي على واقع القراءة والكتابة في وقتنا الحالي ونتائجهما وآثارهما على المجتمع، متطرقاً للظواهر السلبية فيهما، كما حاولت جاهداً تحديد المشكلة ومعالجتها، والعمل على التوجيه بشكل موجز.
