في هذه الرواية التي تعتبر من أبرز الروايات الهنغارية في العصر الحديث، والتي حققت نجاحاً كبيراً، وتُرجمت إلى عدة لغات، واقتُبس عنها للمسرح والسينما، يشعر القارئ وكأن المؤلف قادرٌ على النفاذ إلى أعماقه، لا إلى أعماق شخصياته فحسب.
