وأنا أكتب هذه السطور أضرب عُرض الحائط بجميع أفكاري السابقة حيث لا أرى وجودًا لفكرة «المرض النفسي الأعظم»، لا يوجد ألم أعظم من ألم آخر، ولكْن كلٌ منا يعاني بطريقته ووفقًا لظروفه الخاصة.
لذا أحاول من خلال كتاب «شيزلونج» أن أمنح القارئ فرصة كي يطرق. لذا يطرق باب العيادة النفسية زائرًا لا مريضًا؛ فيخترق عالم العلاج النفسي بما ينطوي عليه من إثارة وغموض وأسرار؛ فيشعر بمعاناة المرضى النفسيين عن كثب، ويُشاطرهم أفكارهم ومشاعرهم وأن يراقب المعالجين وعلاقاتهم بمرضاهم وبأنفسهم، عبر ثلاث وعشرين قصة حقيقية، وبأسماء مستعارة، في إطار «يوم في حياة مريض نفسى»، ينتظم في حلقة علاج جماعي، تجمع كل الأبطال تحت مظلة العلاج النفسي، التي يزول فيها الغموض وتفضُّ خلالها الأسرار.
