كتاب القيادة المرتكزة على مبادئ تأليف ستيفن كوفي يتناول الكاتب الحديث عن مشكلة الفشل الصادم الذي يعاني منه أغلب الناس عندما يواجهونه في مرحلة ما من مراحل حياتهم بالسلبية والعجز عن تحقيق النتائج المرجوة منهم. ويرجع الكتاب سبب هذا الفشل إلى هيمنة عادات سيئة وأنماط حياتية رديئة ومتدنية على هؤلاء الناس. ومن ثم يقوم الحل الذي يقترحه على كيفية تحطيم تلك العادات واستبدالها بعادات أخرى أكثرنفعا وإيجابية. فى هذا الوقت يأتي دور "القيادة" التي تتسم بالفاعلية والقدرة على الابتكار عندما تساعد في تحطيم العادات السلبية، وكسر استمرارية الماضي الذي لا يؤدي استمراره إلا إلى توليد نفس النتائج غير المرغوبة. ومن ثم، تقوم هذه القيادة بمساعدة الأفراد على إعادة بناء ذواتهم على نحو يحقق لهم النجاح المنشود في حياتهم الشخصية والعملية.
