Book Description
تدور أحداث الرواية حول قصة الزوجين آلاباما بيغز وديفيد نايت. آلاباما بيغز ابنة قاضي المحكمة العليا في ولاية آلاباما، أوستن بيغز، الذي يتمتع بشخصية اعتبارية لها وزنها في الولاية. أمّا ديفيد نايت فهو ضابط في الجيش متمركز بالقرب من بلدة آلاباما. يقع الشابان في الحب ويتزوجان ثمّ ينتقلان إلى نيويورك وهناك يسطع نجم ديفيد في عالم الرسم ليغدو رساماً مشهوراً. يعيش الزوجان حياةً باذخة بسبب نجاحات ديفيد وينجبان طفلة يطلقان عليها اسم بوني وهي تتمتع بشخصية غرائبية كوالديها. يقرر الزوجان الانتقال إلى فرنسا وهناك تضطرب حياتهما مع انتقالهما من منطقة الريفيرا إلى باريس بسبب العلاقة العابرة التي جمعت آلاباما مع الطيار الفرنسي جون فويت. في باريس يعيشون حياة الليل والسهر والصالونات الثقافية والغاليرهات المُترفة ويسطع نجم ديفيد أكثر وتتعقد العلاقة بينه وبين آلاباما أكثر. وفي إحدى المرات يقوم ديفيد بمغازلة راقصة باليه فرنسية تحت أنظار آلاباما ويخونها معها وهذا ما يحطم آلاباما أكثر وأكثر ويدفعها إلى أخذ قرار بتعلم رقص الباليه. تبدأ آلاباما دروس الباليه وسط سخرية زوجها والمحيطين بها وهنا تتصاعد الأحداث ويتوسع البون بين الزوجين اللذين ابتعدا الآن عن بعضهما أكثر من ذي قبل. لن أكشف بقية الأحداث أو أسلط الضوء على أي تقاطعات بين حياة زيلدا فيتزجيرالد وأوباما بيغز بل سأترك للقارئ متعة قراءة ما سيحدث واكتشاف هذه التقاطعات في "شاركني هذا الفالس".
