قبل العشاء عند لوك، قضيتُ يومين مُمِلّين للغاية، في النّهاية ماذا لدَيَّ كي أفعله؟ المُذاكرة لإمتحان لن يفضي بي إلى الشّيء الكثير، التسكّع تحت الشّمس، أن أكون محبوبة دون أن يكون ذلك مُتبادلاً من جهتي نحو بوتران؟...
مع أني أحبّه، الثّقة، العطف، التّقدير لا تبدو لي أشياء بلا وزن وقليلاً ما أفكّر في العشق؛ غياب العاطفة الحقيقيّة يبدو لي السّبيل الأكثر طبيعيّة للعيش.
العيش في تجلّياته القصوى، هو أن يرتّب المرء نفسه ليكون سعيداً أكثر ما يمكن، وهذا ليس سهلاً.

سقف غرفتي واطئ وهي كبيرة وعارية تماماً، لأن مشاريع تزويقها سقطت كلّها في النّسيان، لستُ مُتطلبة كثيراً فيما يخصّ الدّيكور إلا فيما يزعجني، تضوع في الغرفة رائحة المقاطعات الفرنسيّة التي أحبّها بشكل خاصّ.
تفتح نافذتي على ساحة سورها قصير، تقبع فوقه سماء متآكلة دائماً، أسيئت معاملتها من جانب باريس، تهرب أحياناً في شكل آفاق تعلو شارعاً أو شرفة، مُؤثّرةٌ وعذبة.
أستيقظ، ألتحق بالدّروس، أجد برتران، نتناول الغداء، هناك مكتبة السّربون، السّينما، العمل، شرفات المقاهي، الأصدقاء؛ مساءً نذهب للرّقص، أو نعود إلى شقّة بوتران، نتمدّد على سريره، نمارس الحبّ، ثمّ نظلّ نتحدّث طويلاً في العتمة، كنتُ بخير وكان دائماً ثمّة في أعماقي ما يُشبه الدابّة السّاخنة الحيّة، طعم الضّجر، الوحدة والحماس في فترات أخرى، أحدّث نفسي أحياناً بأنّي مُصابة بالتهاب الكبد.
