«برطمان نوتيلا» هو أول كتاب مصري يتحدث عن الرجيم والسمنة من وجهة نظر أشخاص خاضوا تجربة التخلص من الوزن الزائد ونجحوا في ذلك، ويسعى الكتاب لتقديم صورة غير نمطية عن التخلص من الدهون بعيدا عن كتب أطباء النظم الغذائية التقليدية.
يحمل الكتاب رسالة بأن السمنة في أساسها مرض نفسي ، ويحتاج إلى معاملة خاصة غير التعامل مع الأكل وحده. وبشكل عام هناك فرق بين نصيحة الطبيب أو المدرب الذي تعلم وقرأ عن النظم الغذائية، وشخص مر بنفس التجربة، فالأخير هو من يستطيع الإحساس بنفس المشاكل والآلام، «فرق كبير بين أن تعالج مريضًا وتشعر به، وبين أن تعطيه دواء وتقنعه بتناوله».
قسم الكتاب إلى 3 أجزاء، الأول بعنوان «عصور ما قبل الريجيم» ويتحدث عن معاناة مرضى السمنة وأزمتهم النفسية والبدنية بسبب سمنتهم من خلال مواقف حقيقية تقع لهم يوميا، والثاني بعنوان «رحلة الريجيم» وهو الجزء الأكبر في الكتاب الذي يتطرق لكل تفاصيل رحلة الحمية الغذائية سواء نفسية أو مادية وكيفية مواجهتها، والثالث بعنوان «ما بعد الريجيم» ويرصد المشاعر والأسباب التي تجعل التخلص من الدهون هدفا وغاية يجب تحقيقها والشعور بها.
