أنا مثلك. إنسانٌ سئم التلقين والموروث، سئم الانقياد والانصـياع، سئم القتل والنزاع، سئم ما فُرض عليه من ثقافة ودِين، وملّ هذا التضارب بين أقوال الناس وأفعالهم. إنسانٌ تعب من تلك الفجوة بين دينونة البشـر وإيمانهم. فيسأل نفسه: كيف يدّعون الإيمان ويَقتلون؟ كيف يقولون طلب الله ذلك؟ أي إله هذا؟ أي دين ذلك؟ أين هي الأخلاق؟ أين هي المبادئ؟ وأين هي الإنسانية؟
والأهم من ذلك: أين هي الفِطرة؟ أين هي تلك الفطرة الإنسانية، التي لا تعرف لوناً، أو عِرقاً، أو جنساً، أو طائفة، أو مذهباً؟ أين هي تلك الفطرة النقية التي لا يحدُّها مكان ولا زمان؟ أين هي الفطرة التي تأبى أن تنحاز لأي طرف أو عنوان، تلك الفطرة التي تعلم أن ما بداخلها، أرقى وأعمق من أن يكون الإنسان مجرد صدفة في الوجود، أو احتمال رياضـي مردود؟
أين هي الفطرة التي لا تقبل إلا العدل والحق، والتي هدفها الخير كله عاجِله وآجِله؟ الفطرة التي نولد عليها بلا كراهية، بلا أحقاد، بلا عنصـرية، بلا أقنعة وبلا أدمغة. تلك الفطرة السوية التي يراها الإنسان في نفسه عندما يختلي بوجدانه، ويرى نفسه على بذور حقيقتها وأصول طبيعتها.
بحثت عنها، وأضع أمامك إجابتي في هذا الكتاب، هذا الكتاب الذي أطمح أن يُعيد الحوار التعايُشـي إلى مكانه الأساسـي في الوجود، الحوار الذي اضمَحلَّ مع الزمن، ولم يبقَ منه سوى أشلاء تغمرها النِّزَاعات، والخِلافات، والتشدد بالرأي لكل مجموعة ترى نفسها مختارة، وأسمى وأفضل من غيرها.
وببحثي عن هذه الفطرة، بحثت عن الله، وعن الوجود والخَلق، فكلها مترابطة، وتوجب عليَّ أن أُحَكِّم عقلي، وأن أستخدم المنطق للوصول. استعنت بأسلوب البحث العلمي، وأسس العلم الحديث. وهذا بحثي كاملاً أضعه في طيَّات هذا الكتاب.
